Curiosidade: Fonética e semanticamente o the, é uma forma reduzida do pronome demonstrativo that (aquele) e conserva ainda esse sentido em algumas expressões. Por exemplo:
    at the moment (naquele momento)
    at the time (naquela ocasião)
    for the purpose (para esse fim)
    it was cheap at the price (foi barato por esse preço)
